Success

Everyone is searching to find their way.
People search for success, but what is success?
How is success defined?
The world judges your success based on your riches--the amount of money you make, the number of followers you have, the brand of clothes you have, how thin you are...

Let go of society's expectations and start listening to God's expectations.
Show me the way to go, and I will follow You.

Everybody spends their life the same, meaningless way, planning to make a lot of money and to gain worldly riches.
"What you ought to say is 'If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.' Otherwise you are boasting about your own pretentious plans, and all such boasting is evil." James 4:15-16
I was Dying
"First I was dying to finish high school and start college.
And then I was dying to finish college and start working.
And then I was dying to marry and have children.
And then I was dying for my children to grow old enough for school so I could return to work.
And then I was dying to retire.
And now, I am dying... and suddenly I forgot to live."

Don't let your life pass you by.
Don't wait until your deathbed to figure it out.
Stop living from goal to goal constantly working toward future fulfillment. Start enjoying each season of your life. Instead of yearning for the next step, enjoy the journey. Enjoy your current season of life. For when you reach the next step, you may find yourself still unfulfilled and wishing to go back.
Laugh | cry | explore | play
Be innocent, live simply
Watch sunrises, jump in puddles, watch sunsets
"People who reach the top of the ladder career-wise are often surprised to find emptiness awaiting them. True joy is a by-product of living in My Presence. Therefore you can experience it in palaces, in prisons...anywhere." - Jesus Calling

I've learned to enjoy my journey through college instead of constantly yearning and worrying about graduation.
Where is your heart? Is it in your major? Or is it in loving others through every season of your life?
Don't be so focused on the future that you miss out on the sweet moments in front of you.
Lord take away my oblivion, and help me to see opportunity and to live for what I was made for.

"Live the life to which God called you. Always be humble, gentle, and patient, accepting each other in love." - Ephesians 4:1-2

Your life is validated by the way you love God and the way you love people.
Make your life count. Make your Father proud.

"True joy is a by-product of living in My Presence. Therefore you can experience it in palaces, in prisons...anywhere." - Jesus Calling
"Believers who are poor should be proud, because God has made them spiritually rich. Those who are rich should be proud, because God has shown them that they are spiritually poor. The rich will die like a wild flower in the grass. The sun rises with burning heat and dries up the plants. The flower
falls off, and its beauty is gone. In the same way the rich will die while they are still taking care of business." James 1:9-11

Spend your life building relationships, meeting people, making conversation with those you pass by.
Don't walk through life so focused on yourself that you miss beautiful opportunities of fellowship. Intersect your journey with others' journey.

"Do not be lazy but work hard, serving the Lord with all your heart. Be joyful because you have hope. Be patient when trouble comes, and pray at all times. Share with God's people who need help. Bring strangers in need into your homes...Live in peace with each other. Do not be proud, but make friends with those who seem unimportant. Don't think how smart you are." - Romans 12:11-13,16

Invest your time growing in faith, love, and hope. Stop investing your time in growing your savings account, fame, and position.
Make an impact on others' lives for the Lord.
If you died tomorrow would you only leave behind your monetary riches? Make sure that if you died tomorrow you leave behind the impact you made on the people's lives you've encountered and intersected.
We all die, but what will you leave behind?

"My Child, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in mind. Then you will live a long time, and your life will be successful." - Proverbs 3:1-2
"Remember the Lord in all you do, and He will give you success." - Proverbs 3:6

You're only given one lifetime, and in the grand scheme of worldly existence, your lifetime is very short. So, you only get one quick, short chance to make an impact.
You never know when you'll run out of time. So, just love.

"You rich people listen! Cry and be very sad because of the troubles that are coming to you. Your riches have rotted, and your clothes have been eaten by moths. Your gold and silver have rusted, and that rust will be a proof that you were wrong. Your life was full of rich living and pleasing yourselves with everything you wanted." - James 5:1-3,5

The only thing that should be on the throne of your heart is Jesus Christ. With Christ at the throne of your heart, true love is discovered--compassion, gentleness, selflessness--success is discovered.

I will spend my days loving the one who raised me.
All you'll ever need is His love.
Soul over success.
I give You the reigns over my life, Lord.

"It is better to get wisdom than gold, and to choose understanding rather than silver." - Proverbs 16:16
